Loose Leaf Collection>
2025 Program Details
The annual street side collection of loose leaves in the Town of Tillsonburg is scheduled to begin October 14 and continues until November 28. Please note the program may end earlier in the event of heavy snowfall. Collection will take place throughout the program, with no set schedule for when crews will reach individual streets.
How to Prepare Your Leaves
A new vacuum arm can now collect leaves from up to three metres away, making pick-up easier and more efficient.
Rake or place your loose leaves into a neat pile on the curb in front of your address—without blocking the sidewalk. If you have a sidewalk but no boulevard, place leaves on your lawn next to the sidewalk. For streets without curbs, place leaves neatly along the edge of the road or asphalt shoulder.
Leaf piles should be no more than 2 metres wide. If you have a large volume of leaves, prepare them in several smaller batches to allow for efficient collection.

Ensure leaves are placed safely:
- Keep sidewalks, catch basins and storm drains clear.
- Do not place leaves where they may block traffic flow, occupy a travel lane or obstruct intersections.
- Do not place leaves around light standards, hydro poles or electrical boxes.
- Do not allow children to play in leaf piles.
Only loose leaves will be collected (do not bag leaves). Do not include branches, grass clippings, dirt, stones, rocks or garden plants, as these materials can damage equipment and cause program delays.
Do not rake leaves to the curb after November 28.
As a reminder, leaves, brush and yard waste can be taken to the Transfer Station at 50 Newell Rd.
