Tillsonburg Welcomes Ontario Funding for Armtec Inc.
The Town of Tillsonburg is pleased to welcome the Ontario government’s multi-million dollar investment to boost local manufacturing. Through Ontario's Regional Development Program (RDP), Armtec Inc. will receive $3 million towards its new $27 million manufacturing facility in Tillsonburg.
“This is great news,” says Tillsonburg Mayor Deb Gilvesy. “This funding support has not only led to spin-off investment in our community, but will also result in 100 more local jobs to help manufacture drainage solutions for the transportation, agricultural and construction industries – not only locally, but across Canada.”
Armtec Inc., a part of WGI Westman Group, recently constructed 115,000 square feet of manufacturing space in Tillsonburg with 2 facilities and growing to 100 staff producing state-of-the-art culverts and water management pipe infrastructure. Along with Armtec, three other Oxford County companies are sharing a combined $11.4 million through Ontario’s RDP.
“Support from senior levels of government is important to bringing projects of this magnitude to fruition,” says Tillsonburg CAO Kyle Pratt. “This investment from Ontario’s Regional Development Program not only advances Tillsonburg’s strategic plan, but also will have a long-lasting ripple effect on local and regional economies.”
Armtec Inc. identified Tillsonburg as a key area to invest in based on its strategic location in Southwestern Ontario.

Tillsonburg predicts the impact will be significant and immediate.
“This support will result in $27 million of new manufacturing capacity for the Town and nearly $93 million across the region,” says Tillsonburg Development Commissioner Cephas Panschow, “which is a positive reflection of our increasing growth across all sectors.”
