Citizen of the Year Nominations

The Town of Tillsonburg is now accepting nominations for the Tillsonburg Citizen of the Year Award.

This award recognizes an individual who makes an outstanding contribution to the Town of Tillsonburg, with no expectation of personal gain. Volunteering of personal time and talent towards the betterment of our community are hallmarks of this award.

Nominees can be recommended either for outstanding contributions to the community in the past year, or over a number of years.

New clinic coming to Tillsonburg

Oxford OHT (www.oxfordoht.ca) has received funding to establish a temporary clinic in Tillsonburg for community members without a Family Doctor or Nurse Practitioner.

VIBE Youth Drop-In Program

VIBE, a youth drop-in program for ages 14-18, runs Thursdays, 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the library (2 Library Lane). There will be a mix of free time and optional structured programs every week. Plus FREE snacks/meals!

Funding for VIBE has been generously provided by Oxford Community Foundation, in partnership with the Town of Tillsonburg.

 

Morning Fitness

This program is designed for any fitness level. It begins with a warm up and then transitions to energizing cardio, with difficulty modifications available. Muscular conditioning exercises follow, where using a variety of resistance equipment such as dumbbells, bands, sliders and more. Each class concludes with a relaxing cool down and stretch.

Home Alone Course

This course is designed for kids to learn how to stay safe at home alone by themselves or with younger or older siblings. Participants will learn the skills to feel confident while staying home alone, including First Aid. Ages 7 - 12 years.

New Exhibit: What’s Your Sign? Part II

Everybody has one. This exhibition will showcase signatures from the Museum’s collection. From George Tillson to other Tillsonburg residents examine the signatures of Tillsonburg’s past. Exhibit opens March 3 and runs until May 4 at Annandale National Historic Site (30 Tillson Ave.).

Admission by donation on opening day.

 

Lunch & Learn Lecture Series: 200th Anniversary of Dereham Forge

Enjoy a catered lunch at Annandale NHS and learn more about the founding of Dereham Forge--the settlement that became Tillsonburg. Admission to the museum is included in the ticket price. Each lecture is offered twice (Thursday and Friday). Purchase single tickets or a series pass. Preregistration is required.
