Dog Licence Renewals

Residents are reminded that all dogs in the Town of Tillsonburg must be licensed annually.
2022 licences expire February 28, 2023, regardless of when the licence was purchased. Pet owners who do not purchase a valid 2023 licence may be subject to a fine of $150.00.

You can purchase your licence online at tillsonburg.docupet.com.

Licences are also available at Your Family Pet Centre (107 Concession St. E.), Ruffins (589 Broadway) or the Tillsonburg Customer Service Centre (10 Lisgar Ave.).

 

Property Tax Due Dates

Attention all property owners in the Town of Tillsonburg. 2023 Interim Property Tax payments are due:

  • Thursday, February 23, 2023
  • Thursday, May 25, 2023

Tillsonburg Hydro Survey

Please be advised that Tillsonburg Hydro Inc., has hired a reseach firm (Advanis) to conduct a telephone survey of its customers until the end of February. The survey is about eight minutes long and evaluates customer satisfaction.

A random sample of residential and general service customers will be contacted. Your time and feedback are greatly appreciated.

Committee Vacancies

The Town of Tillsonburg is currently seeking youth aged 15 to 19 years of age to apply to the Tillsonburg Youth Advisory Council. Applications will close February 17.

The Town of Tillsonburg is also currently seeking applicants to fill one vacancy on the Affordable and Attainable Housing Advisory Committee. Applications for this committee will close February 24, 2023.

“What’s Your Sign?” tells the stories of local people, businesses, and schools with signs from the permanent collection.

Aquatics Update

The indoor pool will now remain open until March 25.

Most programs will continue until this date, with the exception of group swim lessons. A limited number of private lessons will be available.

2023 Budget Passed

Town Council passed the 2023 Budget at its February 13 meeting and approved a modest tax rate increase of 2.82 per cent.

The average Tillsonburg home with an assessed value of $237,000, will see an additional $53.79 on the Town portion of their tax bill.

The Town’s overall budget for 2023 is $35.6 million, with $7.2 million allocated to capital projects.

Highlights of the capital budget include:

  • Young St Reconstruction
  • Bayham Line Reconstruction
  • Improvements to the Community Centre and Annandale NHS
  • New columbarium at Tillsonburg Cemetery
  • Playground equipment replacements
  • Storm and sanitary sewer upgrades

The budget also included the Town’s first 10-year capital and 4-year operating budget forecasts.

The annual budget process, which includes development charges and partnership funding from other levels of government, supports the continued implementation of the 2021-2030 Community Strategic Plan.
