PUBLIC NOTICE

Surplus Land Declaration

25 Maple Lane property (the former Maple Lane Public School), described as: Part Lot 380, Plan 500; Part 1, Plan 41R-9104, Except Part 1 Plan 41R-10139.

The purpose of this notice is to advise that the Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg intends to declare the 25 Maple Lane property (the former Maple Lane Public School), described as:

Part Lot 380, Plan 500; Part 1, Plan 41R-9104, Except Part 1 Plan 41R-10139;

Subject To An Easement In Favour of Part Lot 380, Plan 500; Parts 2 & 3 Plan 41R-9104 (the 96 Tillson Ave property), together With An Easement Over Part Lot 380 Pl 500 Part 2 Plan 41R-9104 (the 25 Maple Lane property);

as surplus to the needs of the Town at the November 14, 2022 Council Meeting and the Town is hereby providing notice of its intent to sell the property. 

The 25 Maple Lane property was acquired by the Town of Tillsonburg from the Thames Valley District School Board in August 2022 in order to permit the development of the property for a Long Term Care Establishment as well as a Retirement Home and related uses.  In that regard, the Town of Tillsonburg is also providing notice of its intent to sell the property to peopleCare Inc.

This notice is being provided in accordance with the Tillsonburg Land Disposition Bylaw 2021-031 and Section 270 (1) of the Municipal Act, 2001. 

Members of the public are asked to bring forward any questions or concerns prior to the Monday, November 14, 2022 Council Meeting.

If declared surplus by Town Council, the deadline for registering any concerns with respect to the proposed sale of this property is 12 PM (Noon) on Monday, November 21, 2022.
