Snow Blowing Operations Underway in Tillsonburg

Tillsonburg Roads crews have commenced snow blowing operations along major streets to address the significant snow accumulation along curbs and road edges.

As part of standard municipal winter operations, snow is being blown onto adjacent front yards. This is a common and accepted practice across many municipalities, as full snow removal (trucking snow away) is significantly more time‑consuming, costly, and resource‑intensive.

These operations are intended to:

  • Reduce large snowbanks along curbs
  • Improve visibility and roadway width
  • Open catch basins and drainage inlets
  • Prepare roads for anticipated snowmelt, allowing water to flow freely and helping prevent localized flooding and refreezing on road surfaces

Crews will continue this work as time and weather conditions permit, with the goal of improving drainage and overall road safety as winter conditions evolve.

Residents may notice increased equipment activity during this work. The Town thanks residents for their patience and cooperation as crews work to maintain safe and accessible roadways throughout the winter season.
