Tillsonburg moves to no-fee dog licensing with DocuPet

The Town of Tillsonburg is delighted to announce that no-fee dog licensing is here!

According to the Town’s animal control by-law, all dogs in the Town of Tillsonburg are required to be licensed annually. But in 2024, Council has eliminated the standard registration fee.

“In the current economy having to pay for a dog licence is an added expense that adds stress to people’s lives,” says Mayor Deb Gilvesy. “At the same time, there is value in knowing which animals are in our community, and who they belong to.”

“By keeping dog registration compulsory but eliminating the licensing fee, we hope to spur an increase in overall registration compliance to help get more dogs home safe,'' says Geno Vanhaelewyn of the Town’s building and bylaw department, noting that 2024 licences are now available through the Town’s vendor, DocuPet..

When residents register their pets with DocuPet, lost dogs can be easily and safely returned to the owners.
