Leaf Collection>
2024 Program Details (Updated!)
The annual street side collection of loose leaves in the Town of Tillsonburg is scheduled to begin October 7. Collection is anticipated to extend until mid December. Please note the program may end earlier in the event of heavy snowfall.
How to Prepare Your Leaves
- Do not bag your leaves
-
Rake or place your loose leaves into a neat pile at the curb of the street in front of your address. For streets not having a curb, leaves can be placed on asphalt shoulder or edge of the street in a neat pile. EXCEPTION: Residents on North St. who have a designated bike lane in front of their property may rake their leaves to the boulevard next to the curb.
-
Leaf piles should not be larger than 2 metres wide.
-
If you have a lot of leaves and limited storage space in front of your property, you may need to prepare leaves in multiple batches.
-
Do not rake any leaves to the curb after November 24.
-
Leaves should not be placed where they will limit traffic flow, occupy the travel lane, or at intersections.
-
Keep sidewalks, catch basins and storm drains clear.
-
Do not place branches, grass clippings, dirt, stones, rocks and garden plants out for collection. These materials can cause equipment failure and program delays.
-
Do not allow children to play in leaf piles to ensure their safety.
-
Do not park vehicles on top of leaf piles.
As a reminder, leaves, brush and yard waste can be taken to the Transfer Station at 50 Newell Rd.
