Public Notice: 31 Earle Street

The purpose of this notice is to advise that the Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg intends to sever the south portion of the municipally-owned land at 31 Earle Street comprising approximately 3 acres of land. The land is proposed to be severed to allow for the development of a multi-residential apartment building that is proposed to include affordable housing options, such as Attainable Employee Housing.

In order to facilitate the proposed project, the lands are required to be re-designated from ‘Low Density Residential’ and ‘Environmental Protection’ to ‘High Density Residential’, as well as rezoned from ‘Minor Institutional’ to ‘High Density Residential’.

The purpose of this Public Information Centre (PIC) is to provide an opportunity for preliminary feedback from the public prior to the formal public meetings that are required in support of the future planning applications (Official Plan Amendment and Zone Change).

The Town of Tillsonburg’s Affordable/Attainable Housing Committee has been working to foster various opportunities for all types of housing in the community and this project has been developed with their guidance. It is anticipated that a future development could be in conjunction with the County of Oxford and result in a Private/Public Partnership that offers a mix of market rate units and Affordable Housing units.
